EU approves Hungary’s nuclear power station deal with Russia

The European Commission dropped the second of two infringement procedures it launched against Hungary’s planned expansion of its Paks nuclear power plant, and Budapest can now move forward with the project, bne IntelliNews reports. Hungary controversially awarded the contract for the $12 billion project to Russian state nuclear agency Rosatom, and Moscow will finance 80 percent of the nuclear plant expansion.
