Sberbank Ukraine limits cash withdrawals after nationalists protest in Kiev

Russia’s largest state-owned bank, Sberbank, is limiting cash withdrawals in Ukraine to about $1,115 a day after Ukrainian nationalists blockaded the entrance to the bank’s headquarters in Kiev on Monday, The Moscow Times reports. The Ukrainian nationalist group the Azov battalion is demanding that Sberbank leave Ukraine. Also, Kiev is considering imposing sanctions on Russian banks, including Sberbank, for beginning to accept documents issued by Ukraine’s breakaway Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
