Senator McCain visits the West Balkans

The Russian Daily Izvestia writes in an article dedicated to Sen. McCain’s visit to the West Balkans that that according to Russian experts the U.S. is focusing on the Western Balkans to counterbalance Russia. Since the 90s, the U.S. has become the decision-maker center of the West for the Western Balkans, declaring it a zone of U.S. national interest.

Sen. McCain’s visit, according to Izvestia, aims to reassure national governments in the region of the U.S. commitment under President Trump. The U.S. senator has so far visited Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia and is due in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montennegro, Albania and Kosovo.
