Kosovo’s president calls parliamentary election for June 11

Kosovo PM Isa Mustafa lost a no confidence vote on Wednesday, taking down his government after three years ruling the small Balkan state. Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci has now called for an early parliamentary election to take place on June 11, Reuters reports. The parliamentary election will be Kosovo’s third since declaring independence in 2008. The collapse of Kosovo’s latest government will delay, if not derail, Kosovo’s EU-brokered border deal with Montenegro. Also, the EU-moderated Kosovo-Serbia talks will be temporarily halted.
