Kosovo faces potential political crisis

Kosovo’s parliament convened for the first time since June’s snap parliamentary elections, and MPs failed to elect a speaker, which casts doubt on whether the coalition that won the election can form a government, an AFP article states. The “war wing” coalition that received the most votes in the June vote only came away with 39 of 120 seats in the parliament. Both the second and third place finishers, which have 32 and 29 seats respectively, are thus far refusing to enter a coalition with the “war wing” group, raising the possibility of a redo election.
