Russia’s Security Council recommends review of Gazprom’s export monopoly

The Russian Security Council’s commission on the economic and social spheres has recommended that Russia’s government determine the conditions on which the Russian gas export market becomes liberalized, Vedomosti reports. Liberalizing the market would bring an end to Gazprom’s gas export monopoly. The Security Council commission is also calling for Russia to prioritize the development of its LNG industry so that Moscow becomes one of the world leaders in LNG production and exports.
