Turkey says it is against EU sanctions on Russia

Turkish Foreign Minister Melvut Cavusoglu said in an interview that Ankara opposes the EU’s sanctions on Russia over Moscow’s annexation of Crimea, Hurriyet Daily News reports. Cavusoglu did not mention the U.S.’s new sanctions on Russia, which target Moscow’s Turkish Stream gas pipeline. Ankara and Moscow are still trying to figure out how the new U.S. sanctions will impact Turkish Stream, which is supposed to begin delivering Russian gas to Turkey by 2019.
