Turkey migrant deal ‘holding’ despite EU tensions

An internal assessment of the EU’s migrant deal with Turkey conducted by the Estonian EU presidency says migrant arrival numbers are down this year, and the deal is holding despite rising tensions with Ankara, EU Observer reports. However, the number of migrants crossing from Morocco and Algeria into Spain has increased recently, and Greek media are reporting the number of asylum seekers coming from Turkey to the Greek islands is again rising.
