OMV head says Nord Stream-2 financing hampered by U.S. sanctions

The CEO of Austrian energy company OMV, Rainer Seele, said financing of large Russian projects, such as Nord Stream-2, “became almost impossible” after the U.S. introduced new sanctions against Russia, Reuters reports. Russia’s Interfax news agency also quoted Seele as saying the partners in the Nord Stream-2 project should first rely on their own capital to finance the gas pipeline.
