Hungary threatens to block Ukraine’s EU progress in language row

In retaliation for Ukraine’s new language law — which requires secondary schools and up to use Ukrainian as the main language for instruction — Budapest has said it will block further efforts to integrate Kiev into the European Union, Reuters reports. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has already canceled a visit to Ukraine over the new language law. Outside of the EU, Moscow has also released a statement protesting Ukraine’s new language restrictions.
