Russian gas deliveries to Turkey soar in September

With Putin meeting Erdogan in Ankara, Gazprom announced its gas deliveries to Turkey surged 48 percent year on year in September. A bne IntelliNews pieces suggests this news, coupled with Gazprom going ahead with Turkish Stream and Rosneft considering building a pipeline that would bring gas from Iraqi Kurdistan to Turkey, indicates Putin is attempting to pull Erdogan and Ankara out of the West’s orbit and bring them into his own sphere of influence.
