Croatia wants to adopt euro within 7-8 years: prime minister

Croatian PM Andrej Plenkovic announced that Zagreb plans to enter the eurozone within two government terms in office, or 7-8 years, Reuters reports. Zagreb’s major challenge before adopting the euro is the reduction of public debt, which is slightly above 80 percent of GDP. Plenkovic said the goal is to bring public debt down to 72 percent of GDP by 2020.
