Macedonia jails 33 ethnic Albanians for 2015 shootout

A Macedonian court issued jail sentences to 33 ethnic Albanian — seven of whom received life sentences — for their involvement in the 2015 shootout with Macedonian police in Kumanovo that left 22 people dead, Reuters reports. Some of the defendants were from Kosovo, while the others were from Macedonia. Those who were convicted were found guilty of committing acts of terrorism and belonging to a terrorist organization.
