Bulgaria calls for West Balkan EU integration after Brexit

Ahead of Bulgaria taking over the EU Council presidency, Bulgarian PM Boyko Borisov visited Brussels and said Sofia will push for the Western Balkans to move closer to the EU. Borisov also noted that Austria and Romania will hold the subsequent EU Council presidencies, which due to their familiarity with the Western Balkans, should make it the right time to speed up the integration process. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, who joined Borisov at a press conference, said there will be no EU enlargement before 2019 but Serbia and Montenegro will join the bloc before 2025.
