Greek president tells Turkey’s Erdogan no treaty revision

In a meeting with Erdogan, Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos ruled out any revisions of the 1923 Treaty of Lusanne, which defines the borders of Turkey and Greece, Reuters reports. Prior to Thursday’s meeting, Erdogan had been calling for a revision to the treaty, and during the meeting, he said some details in the treaty are not clear. Erdogan’s current trip is the first visit to Greece by a Turkish head of state in 65 years, and it comes at a time of increasing tensions between the two neighbors.
