Kiev rebrands its war in the east

Ukrainian lawmakers passed a contentious bill this week that aims to reintegrate territories in Eastern Ukraine controlled by Russia-backed separatists. The legislation rebrands the war in Donbass as a fight against Russian aggression, as opposed to an “antiterrorist operation,” as it has been referred to for multiple years. However, the bill stops short of actually saying Ukraine is at war with Russia, RFE/RL reports.
