Erdogan pushes Macedonia to suppress ‘Gulenist terrorists’

Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov went to Ankara seeking support from Erdogan in Macedonia’s name dispute with Greece. Ivanov received support, as Erdogan said Ankara maintains its position that Macedonia’s rightful name is the Republic of Macedonia. In turn, however, Ivanov promised that Skopje would cooperate with Ankara in the fight against the “Fethullah Terrorist Organization,” Balkan Insight reports. Erdogan vowed to cleanse the Balkans of Fethullah Gulen-linked “terrorists,” and Ankara has been pressuring Macedonia and other Balkan states to shut down Gulen-linked NGOs, colleges, companies and media .
