Syria air strikes: US and allies attack chemical weapons sites

The U.S., UK and France launched overnight airstrikes in Syria, bombing Syrian government targets in response to the recent chemical weapons attack in the Syrian town of Douma. Explosions hit a scientific research facility in the Syrian capital Damascus, as well as two chemical weapons facilities near Homs, the BBC cites the U.S. Pentagon in reporting. Moscow is responding by claiming the attacks on its ally “will not be left without consequences”.
