Greece angrily rejects Erdogan’s proposed soldier swap

Amid escalating tensions over Turkey staking claim to Greek Aegean islands, Athens is accusing Ankara of holding hostage two Greek soldiers who inadvertently crossed the Turkish border. Erdogan is now proposing a prisoner swap in which Turkey releases the Greek soldiers in exchange for eight coup attempt soldiers who have sought asylum in Greece. Greek president Prokopis Pavlopoulos rejected Erdogan’s proposed swap, The Guardian reports.
