Turkish lira sinks to fresh record low after US nuclear deal pullout, share index worst in 10 months

After U.S. President Trump announced he was pulling out of the international nuclear deal with Iran and reapplying sanctions on Tehran, the Turkish lira fell to a record low of 4.3371 to the dollar and then dropped further Wednesday morning to 4.3668 to the dollar, bne IntelliNews reports. Meanwhile Turkey’s stock exchange fell 1.49%, closing Tuesday at its lowest level in 10 months. Iran is Turkey’s second largest energy supplier.
