Russia may secure 2018 budget surplus rather than previously forecast deficit

With the price of oil rising, Moscow is claiming it may have a 2018 budget surplus of 440.6 billion rubles ($7.1bn), rather than a previously expected deficit of 1.27 trillion rubles ($20.5bn), bne IntelliNews reports. The new projection equates to a surplus of .45 percent of GDP, rather than a deficit of 1.3 percent of GDP.
