New Armenian PM Nikol Pashinian met with Putin and reassured him that in the aftermath of Armenia’s revolution the “strategic alliance” between Moscow and Yerevan is not in doubt, RFE/RL reports. Russia has a military base in Armenia, and Yerevan relies on Moscow for security. Armenia is also a member of Russia’s Eurasian Economic Union, which held a summit in Sochi on Monday that was attended by both Putin and Pashinian.
