Bosnian Serbs accuse Britain of meddling in election

The United Kingdom announced it would deploy about 40 military personnel to help ensure free and fair elections in Bosnia in October. Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik responded by accusing the UK of meddling in Republika Srpska’s internal affairs and said the act borders on intrusion into Bosnia. Russia’s ambassador to Bosnia joined Dodik in criticizing the UK’s decision. UK media have described the move as an attempt to counter Russian influence in Bosnia, particularly in Republika Srpska.
