Macedonia ratifies Greek deal for second time

The Macedonian parliament again voted 69-0 to ratify the name deal with Greece, with Macedonia’s opposition boycotting the vote, Balkan Insight reports. Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov is now obliged to sign the agreement which would rename the country North Macedonia, though Ivanov is giving no indication he will sign the deal. The last major test for the name deal is expected to be a referendum in Macedonia in late September or early October.
