U.S. charges 12 Russian intelligence officers for 2016 U.S. election meddling

A U.S. grand jury has charged 12 Russian military intelligence (GRU) officers with hacking into the computer networks of the Democratic National Committee and the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign and releasing the information obtained on the Internet, RFE/RL reports. The announcement of the indictments comes three days before President Trump’s first one-on-one summit meeting with Putin.
