US, Turkey meet without apparent resolution of pastor’s case

High-level U.S. and Turkish diplomats met in Washington to discuss the ongoing detention of American pastor Andrew Brunson in Turkey and the sanctions imposed on Ankara as a result of the case. Despite rumors in Turkish media that a deal had been struck to release Brunson and potentially remove the sanctions on Turkish officials, the meetings in Washington concluded without an apparent resolution to the case, AP reports.
