Russia hints at plans to contest Macedonia name deal through the UN

After only 36.9 percent of Macedonian voters cast votes in Sunday’s referendum, Russia now appears to be pushing for the Greece-Macedonia name agreement to go to the UN Security Council, where Moscow has a veto, bne IntelliNews reports. Skopje, however is saying that its deal with Athens does not require any talks in the UN. Macedonian PM Zoran Zaev has vowed to call for early elections if he fails to muster enough parliamentary support to get the name deal passed.
