NATO launches ‘biggest military exercise since the end of the Cold War’

NATO has launched an exercise involving some 50,000 troops, making it the alliance’s largest military drill since the collapse of the Soviet Union, RFE/RL reports. Trident Juncture, as it is called, began in Norway on Thursday and will stretch from the North Atlantic to the Baltic Sea. The exercise involves all 29 NATO allies, plus Finland and Sweden, and is scheduled to last two weeks.
