Recession ahead? Turkey’s 23-month-long industrial growth streak is over

Turkey’s industrial production index declined by 2.7% year-on-year in September, bringing an end to a 23-month streak of uninterrupted growth that dated back to October 2016 and marking the largest decline since 2009, bne IntelliNews reports. The surprisingly weak industrial production data for September was due in large part to a 3.2 percent year-on-year decline in manufacturing output. Many economic forecasters are now suggesting a recession is coming in Turkey.
