RUSSIA REPOSSES UN-EVIDENCE ACKNOWLEDGMENTS FOR CHEMICAL ATTACK IN THE SYRIAN DUMA CITY
January 21, 2020 1tv.ru – Russia again presents evidence to the UN about counterfeiting a chemical attack in the Syrian city of Duma in April 2018.
“Security Council members had to watch an embarrassing video message from former OPHO mission expert Ian Henderson. He worked at Duma.
“The conclusions in the final report of the OPCW were contradictory; they were completely opposite to what the group of experts reached during our work. We had serious doubts that the chemical attack had actually happened. I did not stop studying this topic and spent another six months doing engineering and ballistic research, which further confirmed the view that there was no chemical attack in the Duma, “said a former OPCW inspector.”
A detailed analysis of the Henderson report is published by the Bellingcat International Research Group.
“Henderson’s report examines the impact of what appear to be two chlorine cylinders associated with a chemical attack in Douma on April 7, 2018. One of these cylinders was found on a balcony at Location 2 and one in a bedroom at Location 4. Henderson’s report concluded that it is more likely the cylinders were manually placed than dropped from altitude. Although Henderson’s report claims to have used the same data as the Fact Finding Mission (FFM) of the OPCW, it must be emphasised that three independent engineering studies commissioned by the FFM contradict Henderson’s findings.”
