Turkish reporter seriously beaten at Gezi Park

Turkish daily Zaman reports one its journalists was severely beaten by police Sunday while he was taking photos at Gezi Park. Sunday marks the second anniversary of the Gezi protests that kicked off in late May 2013 over a government plan to turn the park into a shopping mall. Protesters were met with police brutality, and the protests quickly turned into a nationwide movement against the ruling AKP. The Zaman reporter who was beaten Sunday says police repeatedly kicked him in the testicles.
