The event will be held at the House of Europe‘s Hall, 124 Rakovski Street, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Milov photoMr Vladimir Milov is a Russian opposition politician, publicist, economist & energy expert. He is the author of major energy reform concepts, including the concept of market restructuring and unbundling of Gazprom, which was banned from implementation by President Vladimir Putin. Mr. Milov is a columnist for major Russian political and business publications, including Forbes Russia, and a frequent commentator on Russian political and economic affairs in major Western media outlets (The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Washington Post, The Economist, etc.). Mr. Milov is also active in Russian opposition politics, serving as Chairman of the Democratic Choice opposition party, and is also known as the co-author of the critical public report on Vladimir Putin’s presidential legacy, The Results, written together with Boris Nemtsov.

Ms Yulia Zhuchkova is a PhD student at the National Research Tomsk State University where she holds a master’s in international relations, focusing primarily on European integration, EU-Russia relations and Russian foreign policy. She has been a junior fellow at the Center for Post-Industrial Studies (Moscow, 2015-2016) and at the Institute for Human Sciences (Vienna, 2016-2017). Her articles have been published in different languages in The Moscow Times, Wiener Zeitung, NRC Handelsblad, La Razon and several other internationally renown newspapers and academic journals.


vasko nachev

Mr Vasko Nachev has worked as a consultant in exploration and production of oil and gas in various countries in the Middle East, Egypt, Kazakhstan and most recently in Indonesia. He is the author of numerous articles and papers relating to the oil and gas sector.






Mr Alex Alexiev is Chairman of the Center for Balkan and Black Sea Studies and editor-in-chief of the geopolitical website






IlvasMr Ilian Vassilev is a member of the Board of the Center for Balkan and Black Sea Studies, Managing Partner at Innovative Energy Solutions, blogger, Honorary Chair of the Bulgarian Economic Forum and Chairman of the Reform Union Club.





The foreign lecturers will be in Sofia at the invitation of the Center for Balkan and Black Sea Studies, specifically for the Round Table.
