The Spanish Senate unanimously votes to ratify the Protocol of NATO accession of the Republic of Northern Macedonia. This was the last ratification of the Protocol, thus making Northern Macedonia an official member of the largest military alliance and realizing the 30-year efforts of generations of its citizens. This was reported by the largest ruling party, the Social Democratic Union (SDSM), the Skopje television channel Channel 5 reports.

“The policies of Zoran Zaev and the SDSM-led government over the past two and a half years have contributed to the achievement of the strategic goal of NATO membership. In just two and a half years, one of the two highest foreign policy goals has been achieved. The strategic goal was achieved, we wrote a story! NATO membership means lasting border security, security and stability, but it also means economic progress, development, a better standard of living for citizens, foreign investment and market access worth 4 billion euros a year, “the party said. quoted by Focus.

“We thank all NATO member states that have ratified the Protocol and thank Spain for its ratification in unusual circumstances and we wish the country, as well as across Europe, to deal with the coronavirus. Solidarity and unity are the strongest weapons to deal with any danger,” said Zaev’s party.
